The Prince of Wales’s Homewards programme has announced a new partnership with London Tech Week. Commencing Monday 8th June, Homewards will bring homelessness prevention into one of the UK’s leading spaces for conversations about data, technology and innovation.
Homewards is a five-year programme created by The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales that aims to demonstrate that homelessness can be made rare, brief and unrepeated. Through the partnership, Homewards will work with London Tech Week to highlight how the tools and capabilities shaping modern business can also play a role in preventing homelessness earlier, when warning signs first emerge.
Activity across the week includes Homewards’ presence at the event through a stand featuring exciting demonstrations of projects currently being piloted through Homewards’ partners. There will also be two panel discussions with business, homelessness sector and technology leaders, as well as a special pitch session with projects from across the six UK flagship Homewards locations.
This work builds on Homewards’ evidence-led approach, grounded in the understanding that homelessness can be predictable and, therefore, with the right partnerships in place, can be prevented. Conversations and projects presented during London Tech Week will demonstrate that businesses have an important role to play alongside local leaders, services and communities in helping systems to act earlier and work better.
About Homewards
Founded by The Prince of Wales and The Royal Foundation in June 2023, Homewards is a transformative, locally led programme, that aims to demonstrate that it’s possible to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated. Over five years, Homewards is working with six flagship locations across the UK, to provide them with the space, tools and expertise to deliver and demonstrate innovative solutions that prevent and end homelessness, creating tried and tested models that can be scaled. Homewards will also raise awareness of the breadth and complexities of homelessness through national campaigns, local storytelling and by placing those with lived experience at the heart of this work.
